Hollywood Legend, Carrie Fisher, best known for her portrayal of Princess Leia in Star Wars has passed a way this morning, living an entire galaxy of fans in mourning

Mark your galactic watches: today, December 27, 2016, at 08:55 am Princess Leia, aka Carrie Fisher has passed from this world. On the 23rd, Fisher, only 60 years old, suffered cardiac arrest during a flight from London to Los Angeles. Despite holding out for four days, and the prayers of thousands of fans from across the globe, that “the force be with her,” it just wasn’t enough to keep Fisher from taking the final voyage.

A spokesman for the family reported: “It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning. She was loved by the world and she will be missed profoundly. Our entire family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers.”

Fisher’s Mother, Debbie Reynolds, 84, also made a statement: “Thank you to everyone who has embraced the gifts and talents of my beloved and amazing daughter.

“I am grateful for your thoughts and prayers that are now guiding her to her next stop. Love Carrie’s Mother”.

It is hard to believe that only a few months ago, we saw her back on the silver screen, and listened to her witty remarks to the press and on various talk shows, during the publicity events for “Star Wars The Force Awakens“. The actress openly admitted that she was not happy about getting older, but tried to resign herself to reality, and age did not stop her inner flame from burning bright.

Fisher’s final appearance on screen in the role of Leia Organa, is expected to be in Star Wars: Episode VIII.
